Nomophobia: The 21st Century Fear Nobody Is Talking About
Picture this: you reach into your pocket and your phone is not there. In the space of a single second, a wave of unease washes over you โ a flutter of panic, a surge of disorientation, a sudden and overwhelming need to locate the device immediately. Your mind races through possibilities. Did you leave it at home? On the table at the cafรฉ? In the taxi? And beneath the practical concern lies something rawer, something harder to articulate โ a feeling not merely of inconvenience, but of vulnerability. Of incompleteness. Of being, in some fundamental way, cut off from the world.

Friendship Fossilised. Content Warning.
Introduction This has been inspired by the fact that I often include old stories of mine, to expand or enhance new stories, and also to make sure that I am not repeating myself too much. It is OK for some repetition to give emphasis to some points, but I don't want a virtual repeat of any old stories.

Congratulations
A system that is broken or misaligned, be it social, economic, cultural, technological, or otherwise. Spam/Scam calls or messages seem to cover them all. Social systems of shame among family & friends are overcome & broken by economic realities. Local politics engage in human trafficking, often of entire communities, forcing them into the trade. (If the first three numbers of a 13-digit phone number are โ234โ, the call originates from Nigeria where, for many, such call centers are simply a fact of life.) Where law enforcement would love to be able to bring practitioners to justice (India is a prime example), lack of resources causes it to break down.

Why Programs Like Japan Language Factory Exist for People Moving to Japan
When people commit to moving to Japan, preparation often begins with studying harder. Vocabulary lists grow longer. Grammar explanations become more detailed. Polite forms are memorized carefully. Many assume confidence will naturally follow once knowledge reaches a certain level.

The Architecture of Heroism
The Architecture of Heroism Strength Without Spectacle We are taught to recognize heroes by volume โ by urgency, by sacrifice, by visible impact. But much of what sustains a life, a family, or a culture is quieter than that. This series explores heroism not as spectacle, but as structure: the steadiness that prevents collapse, the discernment that interrupts harm, and the regulation that builds something lasting. Here, strength is not dramatic. It is disciplined.

When Structures Rise Without Listening
The Tower I was not born in defiance. I was born in longing. They gathered at my base with dust on their feet and stars in their eyes. Their hands trembled not from arrogance, but from memory โ a faint remembering that they once touched something vast.
