After 15 Years of LGBTQ Living, I Forget I am Queer Sometimes
Many of us are aware society likes to label things. Being able to slap a label onto someone usually puts them into a neat box that others can process easier. I find that labels are necessary for certain situations. I like to know if someone is Democrat or Republican. I can’t imagine not labeling street signs or freeway exits. Restaurants deserve a good label so we all know the food we are putting into our bodies.

A Message to my son
On your 20st birthday you came out to our family. You thought we would hate you, you thought we would kick you out, you thought you knew us. We didn't know how to deal with the anger you flung at us for months after. We loved you but we also hated you. We hated the anger that came off you in waves, we hated the stranger that lived in our house, we hated the loss of the person we knew. But we loved you.

I Wish I Knew
Trigger warning: Sexual assault, intimate partner abuse Why isn't it more well known that intimate partner abuse is a thing? Why is same sex sexual abuse, in any capacity, seemingly nonexistent? These are both topics I feel need to be discussed more. I wish I would have known that these things happened, and I also wish I'd known that I was dating a monster before I started.

1st Day 8th
1st Day 8th We doing what now? I was not into this day. I was forced to leave my grandparents, my cousin had been 3 doors away my “entire life”, and my sisters and godmother’s were within 20 minutes of the house in which I was built. I was not prepared or even knowledgeable about this move. Wasn't consulted, informed, or even dreamed that my mother would just up and marry some man that she, just months ago, wouldn't even accept his calls.

Sri Lankan Dances
Sri Lanka is famous for its various classical and traditional dance traditions, which are brought to life by colorful costumes and rhythmic music. Looking back, the concept of Sri Lankan dance may be traced all the way back to the 4th century BCE. The fundamental goal of these Sri Lankan dances was to ward off natural disasters and illness.
